I created the concept and name of this campaign, together with designing all the campaign assets including flyers, networking cards, banners and landing page. I also conceptualised the animation, wrote the script and art directed the animation agency.

Background and rationale

Historically, patents are not well understood within the research community which doesn't serve researchers well when they need to commercialise their findings and research. Companies within the industry seemed to secure funding better and commercialise faster so the aim of this campaign was to encourage a conversation between academia (including researchers) and industry (firms) in the hopes of knowledge-sharing and transfer.
I came up with the one-line concept to convey the 'stream' of knowledge connecting both parties.   

Design

I kept the visuals as simple as possible to keep the focus on the connecting line and the content of the materials.
I designed an A6 concertina mini-booklet to be given to attendees at the event or mailed out to them afterwards. When the mini-booklet unfolds, it becomes an A3 poster that attendees could display around their offices/desk areas.

Animation

Another deliverable was a video for the annual Innovation Forum event which happens across various APAC countries. I wrote the script, created the storyboards, collaborated with marketing managers to fact check some points, then I briefed and art directed the animation agency, Chalk.
They executed the concept beautifully and translated the script to Japanese, Chinese and Korean for a more global reach. It was a mammoth campaign and I couldn't have been more proud of the team effort to create something so important to the research industry.
